Predjama treasure tells a story about social life, which took place near a candle-lit table full of food and drinks.
The best known among the knights of Jama Castle was Erazem of the Cave. He lived in the second half of the 15th century. He was so daring and eager to fight that the Emperor himself became his enemy and sent an army against him. Because of the exceptional position of the castle and the cave tunnels that facilitated the supply of food and water, the siege had no effect on the strongly fortified castle. It was only betrayal by one of his servants that proved fatal for Erazem.
As it often happens in history, Erasmus' life ended because he was betrayed by someone who was close to him - his personal servant.
